Appeeling Fruit Holdings, LLC
1149 Railroad Rd
Dauberville, PA 19533

In 1991, Appeeling Fruit, opened it’s doors for business and has been thriving ever since. Our story is one of humility, perseverance, and a willingness to go the extra mile.

In 1991, Appeeling Fruit was solely a processor of fresh bakery apples with no extended shelf life. We started selling to bakeries throughout the northeast and with the help of a small group of employees, and family members they built a sustainable business supplying those bakeries.

After eight successful years providing bakery slices, Appeeling Fruit saw opportunity in the fresh market. Fresh sliced and packaged products were rare at the time, and technology and treatments were in their infancy. Through trial and error, and a few key development partnerships, Appeeling Fruit launched what is now known as “Fresh Sliced Apples”. Knowing this product would be a success, Appeeling Fruit began marketing fresh sliced apples in the fall of 1998.

Then in 2009 with the help of the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce, Greater Berks Economical Development, and Ben Franklin Technologies, Appeeling Fruit made a move that would define it for the next decade to come. Riding on the success of the fresh sliced market and the drive for more production and space, we moved from our original factory in Blandon, PA into our current 23,000 square foot state of the art facility located in Dauberville, PA. This move was made with the foresight of food safety demands, rapid escalation in demand for fresh products, and the vision to make Appeeling Fruit a successful community based organization.

As we look to the future, Appeeling Fruit will continue to be at the forefront of the fresh food food and healthy living movement. We will continue to focus our energy and growth on offering the safest, most convenient, and lowest priced fresh sliced options to customers. Approaching 30 years in business, we have never been better and we could not have done it without the support of our customers, employees and you.

Ghessi Chiropractic
12 West Main St.
Fleetwood , PA 19522

Our Philosophy

It's our philosophy that all people have the potential to heal.  Given the correct healing conditions are working in the body, the body can and will heal itself. Chiropractic care is based on the priciple that "the power that made the body heals the body".  What this means is that inside of the body there is an "innate intelligence" that directs all of the body's functions.  When the body is healthy it will resolve most of it's pain and problems on it's own.  However, due to many of the unhealthy things we do to our body throughout life, the body's ability to heal itself can diminish, allowing pain, injury and illness to set in.  It is our goal to help your body start functioning at it's highest possible level, so it can heal effectively, and function at it's best for years to come.

Humane Pensylvania
1729 N 11th St
Reading , PA 19604

Humane Pennsylvania is completely unique.  We are the region’s largest partnership of animal welfare organizations, combining the efforts and resources of managed intake and adoption guarantee animal shelters, adoption centers, non-profit veterinary hospitals and clinics, equine rescue, emergency animal service organizations, animal welfare management services, an animal focused charitable foundation, and even a free public dog park.

Alone, each of these organizations could do a lot to help animals.  Together, they can do anything to help animals.  Founded in 2013 as merger between two of Pennsylvania’s oldest and most respected sheltering organizations, Humane Pennsylvania is now a statewide and national force to save animals and help people be the best caretakers they can be.

We can’t just wait for the fractured animal welfare community to set aside its differences and come together to create humane communities in the future.  Humane Pennsylvania and its partner organizations chose to come together to form a humane community now.  By working together, Humane Pennsylvania delivers veterinary services to tens of thousands of clients; provides preventative and emergency services which keep thousands of animals safe and sound in their homes; and rescues, houses, and treats thousands of homeless pets.

Integrated Medical Group Physical Therapy (IMGPT), located in Fleetwood was opened in 2009.  We currently employ 3 Physical Therapists and 1 part time Physical Therapist Assistant.

At IMGPT we treat a wide variety of patients.  Our patient population varies from children , concussions, sports and work related injuries, surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain, pregnant women, motor vehicle injuries, and retired adults.  Chris Gordos has been treating patients in Berks County for more than 20 years.  Eric Parrish has treating patients in Berks County since 2002.  Andrea Miller joined IMGPT in 2018.  We treat patients with manual hands on care for a minimum of 20-30 minutes in an open community atmosphere.  Our average patient is in the office for 90-120 minutes.  Our approach is a sports medicine based educational model that emphasizes a comprehensive treatment program including an independent home exercise program.  We accept almost all insurances.  We offer early morning, afternoon, and evening hours.  We have had success using Australian Manual therapy and Joint mobilizations, Instrumented Assisted Soft Tissue Massage, Strain-CounterStrain, Myofascial Release, and other manual techniques for pain reduction and a return to normal function.

Are you having difficulty getting a doctor visit scheduled for your pain? Did you know with most insurance that you can schedule with IMG-PT before you see the surgeon? If you have any questions about whether PT may help you, call for a quick consult. If it is determined we can help, we can schedule a complete evaluation or if you need to see a MD, we can recommend the best ones in the area.

Industrial Metal Plating
153 Wagner Lane
Reading, PA 19601

Industrial Metal Plating has been serving customers as a quality metal finisher specializing in color anodizing and chemical brightening of aluminum parts for almost 60 years. In 1959 Perry Leahman and Sam DiBlasi set up a small metal plating business in an old officer’s mess hall located behind the Reading Airport in Reading, Pennsylvania that had not been used since the end of WWII. Later, they joined forces with Herb and Ralph Maack, owners of Pottstown Plating Works, and for the next eleven years the company continued to operate on a small scale.

In 1971, Greg Maack, the son of Ralph Maack was discharged from the army and wanted to work in the family business in Pottstown. His father sent him to Industrial Metal Plating in Reading to get some experience. Greg spent the next fifteen years learning the business and eventually bought out all of the partners. He modernized equipment, added new plating processes, made several additions to the building, and grew the company from 12 employees to 65.

  • In 1986, a fire completely destroyed the entire company. Greg immediately went to work to rebuild his business where the original IMP once stood. One year later, the new state of the art facility was complete. Aluminum anodizing and chromate conversion were the primary finishes that they now provided.

  • In 1995, Greg’s son, Jamey Maack joined the company after graduating from college. He, like his father, learned the business from ground up participating in every job the and position company had to offer. He modernized technology, added new processes and implemented current business practices.

  • Today, Industrial Metal Plating Inc. is a flourishing business, offering a wide range of quality metal finishing services.

Reading Royals
700 Penn Street
Reading, PA 19602
We began play in downtown Reading, PA in October 2001 and have become one of the most-successful organizations in the ECHL, winning the 2013 Kelly Cup and qualifying for the postseason 14 times in 18 seasons. Our fan base is considered among the most family-friendly and passionate in the league; opposing coaches and players often remark on the loud volume at Santander Arena when supporters rally the team on positively. The Berks County Convention Center Authority (BCCCA) announced their intent to purchase the Royals in January 2019 to “Restore the Roar” at Santander Arena.
A “developmental” theme is entrenched in our history. As a member of the “Premier AA Hockey League,” we are proudly affiliated with the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers. Tyrell Goulbourne was the first Flyers prospect to develop in Reading. Thirty-two Royals have advanced from Reading to play in the NHL, including two-time Stanley Cup Champion goaltender Jonathan Quick and Stanley Cup Champion Philipp Grubauer. These are among the most-famous names that helped us earn the nickname “Goaltender U” for the number of netminders that advanced to the NHL after suiting up for Reading.
The idea of hockey in downtown Reading came to life in July 1998 when the Berks County Convention Center Authority unanimously selected SMG and the Los Angeles Kings as our first owner and operator at the Sovereign Center (now known as Santander Arena). Throughout the Royals’ history, we have been affiliated with the Kings, Maple Leafs, Bruins, Capitals and Flyers. The team’s first General Manager Ray Delia announced the Royals name and revealed the logo at a press conference at the Sovereign Center on Nov. 1, 2000, 11 months before we played our first game. The name aligned with the Los Angeles “Kings” royalty theme.
In the inaugural 2001-02 season, we established ourselves as a staple in Berks County; the team averaged more than 6,000 fans per game and sold out the Sovereign Center 13 times. Here’s a fun fact: superstar musical artist Taylor Swift, a Wyomissing, PA native, sung the national anthem multiple times before Royals’ games during our first two seasons before pursuing her musical career in Nashville.
We are proud of our tremendous support from Berks and the surrounding counties and are ready to “Restore The Roar” with you.

Sorrelli Jewlery
220 W Main St
Kutztown, PA 19530
Our founder Lisa Oswald was invited to all the cool parties of New York in the 80’s. She had nothing fancy to wear, so she made her own bold creations. It made her and her friends shine.
Inspired by her heritage and love for family the brand was named after sorelle – sisters in Italian.
Her sparkle was contagious. Our family joined from the early start. And today, Lisa’s daughter, Lily, is our CEO. That makes us a second generation, female founded and female led, family brand

We want her to shine. At her wedding day, or any other day: dinner with friends, coffee with mom, a business presentation. And you know what – especially with a screaming toddler in the supermarket. We know that when we laugh and live together, we get closer. We want these moments to last. Let’s collect, share & allow them to live on.

Sweet Street Desserts
722 Hiesters Lane
Reading , PA 19605

In 1979, in Reading, Pennsylvania, Sandy Solmon started baking classic American cookies in a 2-bay garage. Tirelessly testing recipes and ingredients, she struck the perfect balance: a harmonization of flavor, texture, and the elusive dimension of artfulness, the je ne sais quoi, that separates good cookies from great ones. As her cookies caught on and the following for her small production grew, Sandy’s dessert portfolio expanded and Sweet Street Desserts was born.

Today, Sweet Street is the leading innovator in the dessert industry. We’re still owned and operated by Sandy and headquartered in Reading where Sandy is also the head of research and development, leading a team of like-minded, passionate researchers and recipe developers who now bake for restaurants in over 60 countries, on every continent.

The Children’s HOME of Reading
1010 Centre Avenue
Reading, PA 19601

The Children’s Home of Reading (CHOR) is a “Sanctuary” certified agency, completing initial certification in 2010. We continue to grow within the philosophy of the Sanctuary Model and are dedicated to providing trauma informed care approaches to healing. As such, consumers are viewed as people who are likely to have histories of physical, sexual and/or other types of abusive trauma-inducing experiences, and this often leads to mental health and other types of co-occurring disorders. Our treatment approaches are based on an understanding of the vulnerabilities or triggers of trauma survivors so that our services are more supportive and avoid re-traumatization. Our services recognize the consumer’s need to be respected, informed, connected, and hopeful regarding their own recovery; the interrelation between trauma and symptoms of trauma (e.g. sexual acting out, depression, anxiety, etc.); and the need to work in a collaborative way with consumers (and also with family and support people of the consumer) and with other human services agencies in a manner that will empower consumers..
